How to use this list
Each entry is given categories according to country of publication, whether a paying market or not, subject matter and type of writing considered.
By using the search box (upper right) you can search for entries in the following ways:
- By category (e.g. ‘poetry’, ‘Italy’, ‘non-fiction’, etc.)
- Searching for specific words in the text that are not in the categories list (e.g. ‘London’, ‘dog’, ‘flash fiction’, e-zine’, etc.). This search is not case-sensitive.
In each case the result of your search will be a new page showing all the markets that match your criteria. You can scroll through this list to find the exact market to suit your needs.
Alternatively, you can simply browse through the list seeking inspiration.
Please help others by adding comments on good or bad experiences, and correcting any errors I may have made (I’m not perfect!).
At least one new market will be added every day, Monday-Friday.
You will also find a page of writing competitions being held in Europe, mostly free to enter.
And please remember that this is a sharing site. If you have any markets or competitions that you would like to add please give details on this page, or send me an e-mail.
This database is entirely free to use, but if you’d like to show your appreciation for the work that goes into its maintenance then please buy one of my e-books (advertised to the left).
Thank you.
